Anyway, due to Tani's tiredness, and also time constraints, we went fairly quickly through most of the museum and got to the Sistine Chapel. Rahul was sharp and found us seats, and we sat for a long time. The pictures are actually just as impressive as people say. There's a lot of stuff going on - lots of stories being symbolized, a lot of trompe l'oeil stuff going on that you have to figure out.
Note to people with pain-in-the-neck teenagers: When Tani was 13, her parents brought her to Rome for 3 weeks. She went with them to most things, but for some reason didn't want to go to the Sistine Chapel and stayed in the hotel watching MTV all day. This seems really awful, but actually it turned out well because we were able to discover the Sistine Chapel together (Tani had seen almost everything else ). And it made it more special, to see it now.
The pope likes Argentinian soccer. That's cool.
