The next day - again freezing cold and also raining this time - we went to the Catacombs. They are all out in the outskirts of Rome. We took the train then a bus. The bus driver dropped us off one stop too early on the famous Via Appia. Normally we can walk one extra stop without problem, but the Via Appia is crazy narrow, and it was raining, and all the cars were driving like an inch away from us. Plus the bus driver was clearly being pandu - we are clearly tourists, obviously we want to go to the Catacombs, not to the podiatrist (which is where he dropped us off).
Anyway, we got there.
We needed to be on a guided tour. Raul went rogue and hid in the Catacombs to take pictures....Tani waited outside.
Espresso from a machine! It wasn't bad.
Rahul forgot to pack a belt....at least Italy is a good place to buy a belt.
